A Peek Inside
Cup
- Place a familiar cup where the child can see it, and say, "Where is the cup?"
- Give the child an empty cup and help them fill it with water.
- Use the word during snack time: "Get your cup," "Here is your cup."
Spoon
- Place a spoon among 2-3 familiar objects and say, "Find the spoon."
- Use a spoon and bowl to scoop and transfer safe items.
- At breakfast or lunch: "Get your spoon," "Wash the spoon."
Plate
- Place a plate beside a cup and spoon and say, "Find the plate."
- Give the child the plate and put one food item on it together.
- After eating: "Take the plate," "Wash the plate."
